2008 marks the very first Buddy Walk sponsored by the Down Syndrome Association of the Virginia Peninsula (DSAVP). The DSAVP provides social and educational support for individuals with Down syndrome and their families, helping families welcome the birth of a child with Down syndrome and increasing awareness of the capabilities and contributions of individuals with Down syndrome. By participating in the Buddy Walk, you will aide us in our effort to promote awareness of people with Down syndrome and provide a platform for advocacy.

What
The Buddy Walk is a one-mile walk in which anyone can participate without special training. It is a wonderful, heart-warming event that celebrates the many abilities and accomplishments of people with Down syndrome. Whether you have Down Syndrome, know someone who does, or just want to show your support, come and join our Buddy Walk!
